Don’t just drive to the pet store and wander up and down the aisles filling your cart with anything and everything! Here’s a list of exactly what you need to buy before bringing home a new dog.
-Leashes (it’s always good to have a back-up)
-Collar (if you adopt from a shelter, most likely your dog will already have one but again, it’s always good to have a back-up)
-Bed or Crate
-Food
-Food bowl
-Water bowl
-Toys
-Treats
-Brush
-Toothbrush and toothpaste
-Shampoo
-Toenail clippers
-Tick remover (depending on where you live)
-Poop bags
-Cheap towels to dry your dog off after a bath or walking in the rain
-Car seat protector
-Doggie seat belt
